Born in Lagos on April 28, 1996, Lojay grew up in the city, including periods in Ikorodu. Accounts of his early life describe childhood involvement in church drumming and songwriting, followed by performances with a school-age group called Decoy. He later attended university in the United Kingdom, although published accounts disagree about his course of study and whether he completed a degree.
After returning to Nigeria around 2018 and concentrating more fully on music, Lojay connected with producer Sarz during the 2020 COVID-19 period. Their collaborative EP LV N ATTN arrived in June 2021 and included "Monalisa," which became his principal breakthrough song and later entered both the UK Official Singles Chart and the UK Official Afrobeats Chart.
Lojay followed LV N ATTN with the GANGSTER ROMANTIC EP in March 2023. He also appeared alongside Davido on Chris Brown's "Sensational," which became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry and led to his first Grammy nomination as a featured performer. In October 2025, he released XOXO, identified in his catalog as his debut studio album.
Lojay is identified as a singer, songwriter and music producer working across Afrobeats and Afro-fusion. Koratori appears in the release credits for GANGSTER ROMANTIC and XOXO, supporting a professional association, but those credits do not establish the precise terms, function or exclusivity of any current contractual relationship.
