Born on 21 March 2007, Nwaneri entered senior football with Arsenal against Brentford on 18 September 2022. At 15 years and 181 days, he became the youngest player to appear in the Premier League and England's top flight. He scored his first Premier League goal against Nottingham Forest in November 2024.
Nwaneri progressed through England's youth teams, including the Under-17 and Under-21 sides, and appeared in every match of England's successful 2025 UEFA European Under-21 Championship campaign. He moved on loan from Arsenal to Olympique de Marseille in January 2026 and later trained with England's senior squad during its June 2026 World Cup preparation camp, although the available evidence does not establish a senior international appearance.
A February 2026 PUNCH report described Nwaneri as having a Nigerian father and reported that he identified himself as Nigerian. This supports describing him as a footballer of Nigerian heritage, but the available evidence does not include independent primary biographical corroboration of his parental background.
