Cole Palmer is an English professional footballer who plays for Chelsea and represents England at senior international level. Born in Manchester on 6 May 2002, Palmer developed through Manchester City's academy, captained the club's Under-18 side during the 2019/20 season and made his senior debut in September 2020. He later formed part of the City squad that won the Premier League, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League in 2022/23.
Chelsea signed Palmer from Manchester City on 1 September 2023. In the 2023/24 Premier League season he contributed 22 goals and 11 assists, performances that brought both the Premier League Young Player of the Season and PFA Young Player of the Year awards. Chelsea subsequently announced an extended contract running until 2033.
Palmer was part of the England team that won the 2023 UEFA European Under-21 Championship and took the free-kick that was deflected in for the only goal of the final against Spain. He made his senior debut against Malta in November 2023 and later scored England's equaliser in the UEFA EURO 2024 final. England supporters voted him the 2023/24 England Men's Player of the Year.
Palmer added a major international club-tournament distinction in 2025 when he received the adidas Golden Ball following Chelsea's victory at the FIFA Club World Cup.
