Charles Chukwuma Soludo
Charles Chukwuma Soludo is a Nigerian economist, professor and politician serving as Governor of Anambra State. His earlier public career included leading the Central Bank of Nigeria and holding federal economic-policy roles under President Olusegun Obasanjo.

Soludo was born on July 28, 1960, and is from Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State. He studied at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, earning a first-class B.Sc. in Economics in 1984, an M.Sc. in Economics in 1987 and a Ph.D. in Econometrics and Monetary Economics in 1989.
His curriculum vitae records his promotion to Professor of Economics at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 1998. In 2003–2004, he served as Chief Economic Adviser to President Olusegun Obasanjo and as Deputy Chairman and Chief Executive of the National Planning Commission.
Soludo served as Governor and Chairman of the Board of the Central Bank of Nigeria from May 29, 2004 to May 29, 2009, according to the central bank's institutional chronology. A curriculum vitae gives slightly different start and end dates, so the CBN dates are used here while the discrepancy is retained as an uncertainty.
Soludo won the 2021 Anambra governorship election as the candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance and was sworn in on March 17, 2022. He was declared the winner of the 2025 election and began a second term on March 17, 2026. As of August 22, 2026, official state and federal sources identify him as Governor of Anambra State.
