Díaz was born in Málaga, Spain, on August 3, 1999. Institutional descriptions place him broadly in attacking positions: Manchester City described him as an attacking midfielder, while Real Madrid and FIFA have listed him as a forward.
Manchester City states that Díaz joined from Málaga in 2015, developed through its youth sides and made his senior debut in an EFL Cup match against Swansea. He moved to Real Madrid in January 2019 and joined AC Milan on loan in September 2020. A further two-year temporary agreement kept him at Milan through June 2023, during which he won the 2021-22 Serie A title, before he returned to Real Madrid.
Díaz appeared for Spain's senior side against Lithuania on June 8, 2021, scoring in a 4-0 friendly victory. He later made his Morocco debut against Angola on March 22, 2024, starting and playing 87 minutes in a 1-0 win. CAF subsequently awarded him the Golden Boot for the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 after he finished the finals with five goals.
As of August 2026, Real Madrid listed Díaz in its first-team squad and said he was beginning his sixth season with the club. The club reported 163 appearances and seven Real Madrid titles as of August 3, 2026. FIFA's June 15, 2026 Morocco squad snapshot recorded him with 27 caps and 15 goals, although those figures are not presented as current August totals.
