who will save her
tears for a great nation
the green son of Africa
you look so great from afar
yet lurking in the streets is danger
the high places yell with corruption
I cry because she need a savior
who will save her

I look through the schools
the youth are tomorrow's leaders they say
yet I wonder if cultists will win
they have left the country
to green pastures they say
they dont come back home
to give their part
as if to say our fathers failed
we wont try but will make it in foreign lands
I ask myself, could it be the youths
I cry because she need a savior
who will save her

great people of the past tried
others are trying
yet others will try
some were killed, others not heard and may not be heard
yet they were only "one man" in their time
this is everybody's fight
yes, think it over
you're not only "one man"
everybody's "one man" together makes the nation

is it the military?, they tried and failed
is it democracy?, they still try
Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo
Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa
Igbo, Hausa, Yoruba
brothers at war for no cause
I cry because she need a savior
the savior is on the way
but the struggle for survival still continues...
