Africa of proud warriors in ancestral savannah's,
Africa of whom my grandmother sings on thebaks of the distant river
I have never known you
But your blood flows in my veins.
Your beautiful black blood that irugates the hills,
the blood of your sweet,
the sweat of your work
the work of your slavery,
the slavery of your children(Bigfissy, Okerotimi,Ciro, geeees,Prince_edwin,Sunset, Cyntia, Arinze, Shawty, ask4fed, deejahnee, afolabialbert, jolaleye, tundeques, afen, abbah, moonlight, mkilla, shondarr, oxman, effico, sefoayo, colla4u, miprincess, sallee, kerrygold, seunnlafunmi, alesha, karean, akpeno, bettna78, angelbide
Africe tell me Africa,
Is this your back that is bent,
this back that breaks under the weigth of humilation?
this back trembling with red scars,
and saying Yes to the whip under the midday sun...
...but a grave voice answers me.
Impetuous child that is young and strong though scared.
Splendidly alone amidst white and faded folwers
That is your Africa sringing up ha new.
Sringing up patiently obstinately,
whose fruit bit by bit acquire the bitter taste of liberty.
