REVIVAL
One of the greatest promises our Lord Jesus Christ ever made to us it is the key to answered prayers; whatever you want for yourself, your home or nation. It is a tremendous promise of prayer power. It is therefore not surprising that there are conditions to be met before such unlimited power could be granted to mortal men. The conditions are: (1) If you abide in Christ (2) If His words abide in you. Abiding in Christ needs little or no explanations but 'His words abiding in you needs some clearifications.
A. WHAT ARE THE WORDS OF CHRIST?
Before the words of Christ can abide in you, you need to know what exactly those words are. The words of Christ are in four basic categories. These are (1)those that the father gave Him to give us - John 17:8. (2) those that the Holy Spirit would teach and bring to our remembrance - John 14:25-26, (3) those He Himself opened to us from the old testament between the time of his resurrection and ascension - Luke 24:25-27, 24:45 and (4) His commandments.
His commandment are basically three, they are:That we should love one another with the love of God John 15:12,17
That we should win souls and ensure that such souls are established in the Lord - John 15:16.
That we should continue His work of destroying the works of the devil - Mark -16:15-18.
These words are to abide in us. We are never to forget them.
B. THE CLEANSE LIFE IN PRAYER.
Our Lord Jesus Christ in His words taught us the importance of a cleanse life in prayer. He was aware that it is possible for christains to sin particularly the sins of omission - Matt.6:9-12. These include the sins of unforgiveness-Eph.4:31 and failure to do what we know to be right for example, few christains give thanks in all things even though we know that is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning us -1 Thess.5:18.Many had been baptised in the Holy Spirit and are full of power but simply refused to witness or limited their witnessing to only their immediate surrounding in spite of Acts 1:8.
Many have a big problem with pride. They just find it difficult not to think more highly of themselves than they ought to - Romans 12:3 notwithstanding. And yet our prayers cannot be heard if the sins are allowed to continue - Psalm 66:18. That is why our lives must be cleansed before we can expect our revival prayers to be hear.
